OVERVIEW

Prober is a Chrome extension that generates critical thinking questions based on selected text to help users develop analytical skills. This privacy policy demonstrates our commitment to user privacy through minimal data collection and transparent practices.

DATA COLLECTION PRINCIPLES

MINIMAL DATA PHILOSOPHY

USER-PROVIDED CONTENT ONLY We collect only the text you explicitly select for analysis and your extension preferences (API provider selection, prompt style). No other data is collected, stored, or transmitted.

WHAT WE DO NOT COLLECT

  • No browsing history, visited URLs, or navigation patterns
  • No personal identification information (names, email addresses, demographics)
  • No behavioral analytics, usage statistics, or tracking data
  • No page content beyond your explicitly selected text
  • No system information or device identifiers

DATA PROCESSING METHODOLOGY

DIRECT API ARCHITECTURE

When you initiate text analysis, your selected text is transmitted directly to your chosen AI provider without intermediary processing:

  1. User selects text and triggers analysis
  2. Selected text is sent directly to chosen AI provider API
  3. No data passes through servers controlled by Prober developers
  4. All communications use industry-standard HTTPS encryption
  5. User retains complete control over provider selection
